The Chicago Cubs Anthony Rizzo has taken nicely to the leadoff spot. And with the Cubs winning their third in a row, why change? Rizzo hit his third leadoff home run of the week in support of Mike Montgomery‘s strong start. He went six innings, allowing just three hits while striking out four. Ian Happ added a solo home run in the eighth for his ninth on the year. The Cubs will go for the sweep on Wednesday in a matinee game.
Rizzo was told by MLB’s chief baseball officer Joe Torre that he was indeed in violation of the slide rule on Monday night.
