Player Grades: Dallas 99, Bulls 98

After winning two games in a row, the Bulls could not push their winning streak to three games, falling to the Mavericks 99-98. The Bulls surged back from as many as 13-points to give themselves a chance to win the game.

Jimmy Butler nailed a go-ahead bucket in the final minute only to concede a 3-pointer to Wesley Matthews with 11 seconds left. Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg drew up a “get the hell out of Jimmy’s way” play, but it fell apart, leaving the Bulls 0-2 against the lowly Mavericks this season.

Here’s how each player graded out:

Jimmy Butler

Grade: A

Statistics: 40 minutes, 24 points (5-of-12 shooting, 0-of-1 on 3-pointers, 14-of-16 on free throws), 9 rebounds, 12 assists, 1 steal

Butler, a rebound shy of a triple-double, was fantastic in all facets, distributing the ball, getting to the free throw line at an insane rate, attacking the glass, and of course, playing solid defense.
