Say it’s so: Weezer will headline the 2019 Winter Classic on New Year’s Day at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Indiana. The Los Angeles-based rock band will play during the first intermission of the game.
The Blackhawks and Bruins will face off in the annual outdoor showcase at noon Central time on NBC.
Weezer’s “Pacific Daydream” album is nominated for the 2019 Grammy for best rock album. Earlier this year, the band released a cover of Toto’s 1983 hit “Africa,” which reached the top of the Alternative Radio chart and in the top 5 on the Hot Adult Contemporary chart.
