The Blackhawks decided to alter their prospect camp model this year and it made sense.
They went from it being more about development and less about evaluation. As entertaining as the scrimmages in the past were for the fans, media and players, the Blackhawks are probably better off working on individual skills, teaching new things and breaking bad habits.
The Blackhawks also hired O2X, which according to the company provides “comprehensive human performance training and education so tactical athletes can finish their careers as strong as they started.” A number of the players remarked how they found the educational portion to be interesting and looked forward to putting the skills to use in the future.
