SHL suspends Blackhawks prospect Tim Söderlund 3 games for flying knee hit

The Swedish Hockey League has suspended Blackhawks forward prospect Tim Söderlund for three games for a hit during Frölunda’s game against Timrå on Wednesday.

Söderlund drove to the net from the left side then jumped between goaltender Niklas Svedberg and defenseman Marcus Hardegard and hit Svedberg in the head with his left knee. Söderlund was given a match penalty on the play.

Söderlund, who was drafted by Chicago in the fourth round of the 2017 NHL draft, has three goals and two assists in 26 SHL games this season.
