The hockey world takes a breather Thursday as the United States celebrates Thanksgiving Day with football, family and sooooo much food. It's usually a day full of lots of imbibing and maybe a little reflection. We'll try to stick to the latter here since my invention of digital beer still hasn't come together yet.
So I think any Hawks fan would recognize that the last year has given us both a lot to be grateful for and some challenging moments that gave us some perspective. There have been so many things happen off the ice, whether we're dealing with suicide and depression or a criminal investigation, that have made it harder to use the team as a real escape from the world.
