Remembering Bears who passed away

Several former Bears players and coaches passed away in 2016. Here are some of those we lost:

Ted Karras, Jan. 26 (age 81)
Bears guard (1960-64)

Karras played five of his nine NFL seasons with the Bears, starting at left guard for the 1963 team that beat the Giants 14-10 to win the league championship.

The Indiana University product appeared in a total of 108 NFL games, also playing for the Steelers (1958-59), Lions (1965) and Rams (1966).

Karras was born in Gary, Ind., on Jan. 31, 1934. He was the older brother of the late Lions star defensive tackle and actor Alex Karras.
