John Fox fills out coaching staff before combine

CHICAGO – The Bears announced the hirings of three assistants on Wednesday: receivers coach Zach Azzanni, outside linebackers coach Brandon Staley and special teams assistant coach Derius Swinton II.

Azzanni, who replaces Curtis Johnson, was the receivers coach/passing game coordinator at the University of Tennessee the past two seasons. He worked as the Vols’ receivers coach/recruiting coordinator from 2013-14. Johnson left for the Saints after the Senior Bowl.

Staley was the 2016 NCAA coordinator of the year for the job he did running John Carroll University’s defense. Staley accepted the defensive coordinator position at UT-Chattanooga before the Bears’ opportunity materialized.
