Ex-Bears WR Joe Anderson trying to keep his NFL dream alive

Joe Anderson has faced an uphill battle trying to stick on an NFL roster ever since he broke into the league as undrafted free agent with the Bears out of Texas Southern in 2012.

The 26-year-old wide receiver was originally invited to rookie minicamp with the Bears in 2012 and impressed the coaching staff enough to earn a contract. After being among the team's final cuts, Anderson was ultimately signed to the practice squad and played sparingly, mostly on special teams, over the course of two seasons in Chicago. He was waived in November 2013 with a groin injury.
