Last Thursday night, Chicago Bears’ rookie quarterback, Mitchell Trubisky, surprised a lot of NFL fans with his debut. There were certainly some that weren’t as surprised as others, but there’s no way anyone expected him to look as good as he did.
When the Bears traded up to draft Trubisky, they guy they felt was the unequivocal top QB prospect on the board, the national media had a field day with the move. Despite the fact that there were a number of stories that came out after the draft, that helped make sense of the decision by general manager Ryan Pace, the narrative was still set.
