Cornering the market: Plenty of options for Bears to improve talent level at cornerback

Big plays from the secondary have been as common as wins for the Bears over the past two seasons -- few and far between. In 2015, they finished with a league-low four interceptions generated by their defensive backfield. That number doubled in 2016, but the team as a whole finished with a league- and franchise-low 11 turnovers.

Such lowly totals quantify the dearth of talent in the Bears secondary. The big-play prowess of Charles Tillman hasn't been replaced and the defense has suffered. Knowing that the cornerback room lacked playmakers after his first season here and looking at the turnover totals Vic Fangio's defenses generated in San Francisco, why wasn't fixing the position a bigger priority for general manager Ryan Pace last offseason?
