Chicago Bears release DT Jeremiah Ratliff, sign Ziggy Hood

Here's one out of nowhere:

Ratliff, who began the season on a suspension, reportedly had to be escorted from Halas Hall after an exchange with Bears general manager Ryan Pace. Ratliff notched six tackles this season in the two games he had played.

Also, showing there's more to the story than "moving forward in the best interest":

Can confirm that Lake Forest Police presence was at Halas Hall following Jeremiah Ratliff's release by the Bears. https://t.co/5ANt2I6So7

Evander "Ziggy" Hood was the 32nd overall pick by the Steelers in the 2009 draft.
