Chicago Bears elevate DT D’Anthony Smith, waive RB Antone Smith

The Chicago Bears announced that defensive tackle D'Anthony Smith has been elevated from the practice squad and that running back Antone Smith has been waived.

Smith, 6' 2", 300 pounds and originally a 3rd round draft pick, has played in 10 games over 2 years with the Jaguars (2012) and Seahawks (2013). He was briefly on the Lions practice squad in 2013 and then back on Seattle's practice squad off and on before being signed by the Bears in October.

The special teams play of Ka'Deem Carey may have led to the Bears waiving Antone Smith.
