Like Terry, Gary Cahill has become 'Captain, leader, legend' at Chelsea

Gary Cahill's over-exultant celebration when he scored Chelsea's late winner at Stoke last Saturday spoke volumes about how the captain feels he may be perceived by certain sections of the club's support.

It wouldn't be unreasonable for Cahill to feel fed up with the way he is constantly criticised by a large band of social media keyboard warriors who are quick to get on his back when he makes a mistake. It has been a hard road to acceptance for the 31-year-old England defender, since joining in January 2012.

Earlier at Stoke, Cahill conceded a penalty when referee Anthony Taylor adjudged the Chelsea skipper had pushed Jonathan Walters to the ground.
