Italy should ‘bend over backward’ to get Antonio Conte back, says former Premier League star

Former Premier League star Fabrizio Ravanelli says Italy should do everything they can to persuade Chelsea boss Antonio Conte to become the national team manager again.

Giampiero Ventura was sacked as Azzurri boss on Wednesday after Italy failed to qualify for the summer World Cup following their play-off with Sweden.

Now the Italian football federation are on the hunt for a new manager, with Carlo Ancelotti and Roberto Mancini thought to be leading candidates for the role.

However ex-Middlesbrough and Derby striker Rabrizio Ravanelli, who racked up 22 caps for Italy during his playing days, says there is only one man for the job.
