FA to get tough with Chelsea over Eddie Heath child sex abuse

The Football Association have vowed that any club who have given a child abuse victim hush money will be punished 'regardless of size'.

In a warning to Chelsea, who made a five-figure payment with a gagging order after a former trainee alleged abuse by their former chief scout, Eddie Heath, FA chief executive Martin Glenn promised to apply the rules 'from top to bottom'.

Glenn said there was 'total commitment' to punish clubs who have stopped victims speaking up about alleged abuse and insisted the FA will also 'own up' if they have made errors of their own.
