Chelsea to hold talks with Shakhtar Donetsk directors in London over Mykhailo Mudryk transfer in the next 24 hours as they look to hijack Arsenal's move for the winger, with Gunners' £62m bid set to be rejected

Shakhtar Donetsk are expected to reject Arsenal’s improved bid for Mykhailo Mudryk as they utilise Chelsea's interest to their advantage.

Talks are taking place with Chelsea over the next 24 hours with Shakhtar Donetsk chief executive Sergei Palkin and Darijo Srna, Shakhtar's director of football, in London.

Arsenal made an improved offer of £45m rising to £62m for Mudryk who has maintained he wishes to join Arsenal.

However, Shakhtar have said they want closer to £85m and Chelsea's presence in talks could push offers closer to their valuation.
