Borussia Monchengladbach are desperate to keep Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen beyond the end of this season.
The 20-year-old is halfway through a two-year loan spell at the German club, where he has caught the eye with some impressive displays.
Chelsea are expected to integrate the Denmark international into the first-team when he returns next summer and the coaching staff at Stamford Bridge have high hopes for the youngster.
However, Borussia Monchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl hasn't given up hope of keeping Christensen a little longer.
"It will be a hard task but I am hopeful that we can do it," Eberl told Sky Deutschland.
