The New York Knicks Reportedly Tried to Sign Nicolas Batum in Free Agency

According to Real GM, “Knicks tried to sign Nicolas Batum in Free agency” this past summer. Nic hit the open market after spending his first season with the Charlotte Hornets. He eventually re-signed with the Queen City team for $120 million over the course of five years.

The New York Knicks “super team” was also looking to add Batum who is a great shooting guard to their current roster. Instead, they settled for Courtney Lee who also played with the Hornets last year. The article added that Nic “would have [had] to take less money” to sign with New York to play alongside Derrick Rose, Carmelo Anthony, Kristaps Porzingis, and Joakim Noah.
