Hornets lose center Kaminsky to shoulder injury

Washington (AFP) - Charlotte Hornets center Frank Kaminsky has suffered a sprained joint in his left shoulder and will miss the team's NBA game Saturday at Denver, the club announced Friday.

The 23-year-old 7-footer (2.13m) was hurt with 7:38 remaining in the fourth quarter of Charlotte's 120-103 loss at Phoenix on Thursday.

Kaminsky, the 2015 US College Player of the Year for Wisconsin, will have the shoulder re-evaluated when the Hornets return to North Carolina on Sunday ahead of Monday's home game against Indiana.

The Hornets, owned by retired NBA legend Michael Jordan, are 26-35 -- three games behind Detroit for the final playoff berth in the Eastern Conference with 21 games remaining.
