Charlotte Hornets assistant coach Bob Weiss is joining the staff of the Denver Nuggets.
The Nuggets made the announcement on Wednesday. Weiss will serve as an assistant coach under head coach Mike Malone. According to Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer, his decision to join Denver is in part to be closer to family, including grandchildren.
It’s easy to understand Weiss’ decision. Coaches often move around the country and away from family, taking jobs where ever available. With the chance to remain in the NBA as an assistant and be closer to home, the move is a no-brainer.
