Charlotte 49ers head softball coach Ashley Chastain has announced the signing of UAB transfer Makalah Mitchell (Summerfield, N.C. / Northern Guilford) to play in the 2021-22 season.
Mitchell, an outfielder, batted .313 in her one season with the Blazers.
Used primarily in left field and as a pinch runner, Mitchell went 10-for-32 as a freshman and scored 11 runs. She made six starts in 38 games played and recorded three hits in a non-conference contest with Georgia.
A 2018 all-state player at Northern Guilford High School, Mitchell was a four-time all-conference star and was twice named all-District.
