KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Charlotte junior Martha Thomas has been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Scholar All-America Second Team, the organization announced Thursday afternoon. It marks the most prestigious academic honor of her career to-date for the Weston, Florida, native.
Thomas becomes the fifth 49ers player in program history to receive the nod and first since 2010. She joins an elite group that includes first-team selection Hailey Beam (2008) and second-team choices Lindsey Ozimek (2007), Sam Huecker (2010) and Megan Minnix (2010).
Thomas is one of two Conference USA players on this year's list.
