The Charlotte 49ers landed three players on Athlon Sports 2017 Preseason all-Conference USA football teams. RS-Junior offensive lineman Nate Davis (Ashburn, Va./Stone Bridge) was named to the publication's all-C-USA Second Team. Sophomore defensive back Ben DeLuca (Orlando, Fla./Bishop Moore) earned preseason third team honors while senior wideout TL Ford II (Cartersville, Ga./Cartersville) pulled down fourth team honors.
A two-year starter, Davis, who was named 2016 Honorable Mention all-Conference USA, has made 18 starts in his first two years with the program. Last year, he helped anchor an offensive line that opened up a 49ers running game that rushed for 176.
