CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Freshman Pierina Imparato went undefeated during qualifying singles action Thursday to reach the main draw at the ITA Carolina Regional presented by Oracle in Chapel Hill. Nearby in Durham, junior Megan Smith led the charge at the NCCU Invitational.
Imparato highlighted the ITA Carolina Regional performances with her 2-0 record. She opened the day with a come-from-behind 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 triumph over Davidson's Ava Todd in round one. Without much of a break before her next match, Imparato put away Clemson's Jenny Moinard in a round-two straight-set decision 7-5, 6-4.
