No one has worried about Charlotte’s offense for quite some time. Spearheaded by four double-digit scorers Ciara Gregory, Lefty Webster, Alexis Alexander and Kira Gordon, there’s been little concern on how the 49ers would manage to score points. Charlotte currently boasts the most prolific offense in the Conference-USA, scoring 76.2 points per game on average through nearly half the season.
Their offensive scoring output ranks them just outside the top-25 nationally but what has separated the 49ers from the country’s best thus far has been their defense. However, the tides are beginning to turn as Charlotte heads into a four game road trip carrying the conference’s best team defense over the past two games.
