Hearts of Gold
Giving back to the Charlotte community is an important part of 49er athletics. Student-athletes, coaches and staff donate their time and talents to the greater Charlotte community through various projects, organizations and causes each year.
On Wednesday, August 25th, 2021, Student-Athlete volunteers had the opportunity to welcome back some of the littlest Niners to school. Thirty-one student-athletes traveled to Niner University Elementary at Amay James to wish students a happy first day of school.
This was Charlotte's first United in GOLD/SAAC Cares event. The 49ers announced the United in GOLD (Growing Our Leaders in Diversity) initiative in December of 2020 to help its students, staff, and coaches understand social issues, systemic racism and advocate and be a positive part of the change.
