Charlotte 49ers standout thrower Terrell Adams (Raleigh, N.C. / Middle Creek H.S.) has been named the 2021 Conference USA Field Athlete of the Year by the league's coaches. Adams shares the honor with UTEP's Paulo Benavides.
A first team U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) all-America in the discus, Adams won the gold medal at the 2021 C-USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in both the discus and shot put. His win in the discus was his third straight league title in the event while he won the shot put with his best throw of the season.
