Michael Brettell isn’t just a pitcher on the Central Michigan baseball team with Major League Baseball draft potential.

He’s much more.

Brettell, standing 6-foot-3, 210 pounds on the mound, was just a child in Fonthill, Ontario, Canada when he first started building things. He made a high chair for his little sister at just six years old.

“I always knew I had an aptitude for building things,” Brettell said. “I had (the high chair) done before he even looked up from the instructions.
