Before the 2017-18 season began, the Central Michigan women’s basketball team was selected to win the Mid-American Conference Tournament.
On March 10, the hopes and dreams of raising a banner became a reality for the Chippewas, who took down Buffalo in the MAC Tournament title game, 96-91, at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.
“Back in November, when we were picked, the expectations were so high,” Guevara said. “I guess everyone kept talking about stress and pressure, but we didn’t talk about that. This is the first team I’ve ever been a part of to buy that Kool-Aid and continue drinking it.
