Gold Holds Off Maroon, 21-20

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – As spring games go, Central Michigan’s was fairly typical.

New faces in new places, several veterans seeing limited playing time or no playing time at all, and some stops and starts.

The Chippewas took the wraps off their new spread, fast-paced offense on Saturday at Kelly/Shorts Stadium as the Gold downed the Maroon, 21-20, in the Central Michigan Football Spring Game Presented by Graff of Mount Pleasant.

“I thought it was a good showing,” third-year Chippewa coach John Bonamego said. “It was relatively clean.
