Over the years I have seen half-court game-winners and buzzer-beating 3-point game-winners.
I have also witnessed a couple perfect games in baseball and softball and Hail Mary touchdown prayers answered as time ran out in football.
Just last March I witnessed a prep wrestler score a pin in the final second of a state semifinal match to propel his team into the Division 3 team state finals after he trailed for the majority of the match and needed a pin to win.
In short this old scribe has seen a lot over the past 20 years of covering sports in mid Michigan.
