CWRU Baseball Defeats Mount Union 6-2

The Case Western Reserve University baseball team won its third-straight game with a 6-2 win over the University of Mount Union on Saturday afternoon at Nobby's Ballpark in Cleveland.

The Spartans now stand at 13-11 overall, while the Purple Raiders, who received votes in the latest D3baseball.com Top-25, dropped to 15-8 with the loss.

Graduate student southpaw Evan Faxon started and earned the win on Saturday to improve to 1-3 on the year. He allowed just two runs on three hits and three walks and struck out seven batters through five innings. Sophomore Jackson Brewer followed with a solid relief outing, throwing three scoreless innings with a hit and three walks while striking out a pair.
