Case Western Reserve University junior running back Jacob Burke and junior linebacker Chanan Demery were named the University Athletic Association Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, following their standout performances during the team's 35-7 win at Waynesburg University last Saturday.
Burke matched a school record with four rushing touchdowns on Saturday, while also carrying the ball 20 times for 163 net yards, both career-high marks. He scored three touchdowns in the first half of the game, punching the ball in from two yards out with 7:29 left in the first quarter to give the Spartans a 7-0 lead, and then put CWRU on top 14-7 with a one-yard scoring run with 4:26 remaining in the second quarter.
