Begley Sets School Record in 10,000-Meter Run

Case Western Reserve University senior runner Jack Begley set a school record in the 10,000-meter run at the WashU Distance Carnival on the Bushyhead Track on the campus of Washington University in St. Louis on Saturday night.

Begley completed the race in 29:41.72 to place fifth in the fastest heat, becoming the first runner in program history to break the 30 minute mark in the event. Begley held the previous school record of 30:26.61, set at the Bison Outdoor Classic last season. His time currently ranks eighth in Division III.

Sophomore runner Aidan Nathan also competed in the heat, placing 24th with a time of 30:31.
