General manager Dave Gettleman is not one to shy away from a draft day trade and he may be discussing his biggest trade yet. According to Matt Barrow of the Sacramento Bee, the Carolina Panthers are talking about trading with the San Francisco 49ers for the second overall pick.
As Barrows notes, there is nothing currently in the works but the NFL Draft is still over a month out. These type of trades don’t typically come together until the days leading up to the event.
The rumor is certainly an interesting one and it raises the question of who the Panthers could be targeting for a jump all the way up to the second pick.
