Roger Goodell says infrastructure is Charlotte's biggest obstacle to hosting a Super Bowl

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- NFL commissioner Roger Goodell didn't come out and say Charlotte couldn't one day host a Super Bowl at Bank of America Stadium, home of the Carolina Panthers.

But he seemingly made it clear after listening to presentations for the 2019, '20 and ‘12 Super Bowls the city isn't ready to host.

"One of the things that comes through very clear in the presentations is that the Super Bowl needs to grow," Goodell said Tuesday at the NFL owners meeting in Charlotte. "It's an extraordinary event that just takes a very large city with a lot of hotel rooms and a lot of facilities, airports that can handle the traffic with people coming in and out.
