Panthers unconcerned Newton rode scooter

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Carolina Panthers coach Ron Rivera laughed when asked about Cam Newton riding a Segway-like scooter in downtown Charlotte without a helmet while still in the concussion protocol prior to Monday night's loss to Tampa Bay.

"I'm not going to worry about that,'' Rivera said of his quarterback on Tuesday. "The bottom line is he's an adult. We'll go from there.''

Newton has been riding scooter-like devices to and from Bank of America Stadium without a helmet for several years.
