Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Panthers have released veteran OT Michael Oher on Thursday.

Oher, 31, is a former first-round pick of the Ravens back in 2009. He spent five years in Baltimore before signing on with the Titans in 2014. After one season in Tennessee, the Panthers signed him to a two-year, $7 million contract and was set to make a base salary of $2.35 million for the 2016 season.

Carolina was impressed enough with Oher to sign him to a three-year extension back in June of last year worth $21.
