Panthers Re-sign DE Charles Johnson; RB Fozzy Whitaker

Johnson has proven the ultimate team player in the twilight of his career. Sure he made a ton of money two contracts ago, but since he has now turned down better offers elsewhere (I assume) twice.

Other unnamed NFL teams were looking to sign Carolina Panthers defensive end Charles Johnson. But Johnson, 30, chose to sign a two-year, $9.5 million extension with Carolina. "I mean, it was a couple teams. I’m not going to mention any names," said Johnson on a conference call shortly after the signing was announced.

Johnson has never been coy about his love for the organization or the city of Charlotte:
