The first three scheduled Carolina Panthers OTAs took place this week with a majority of the roster taking part. Notable absences included tackle Michael Oher, who remains in the concussion protocol from last season, but has indicated he will attend the mandatory minicamp in mid June.
Carolina’s first and second round draft picks, Christian McCaffrey and Curtis Samuel were the only other players not in attendance. McCaffrey cannot join the team until Stanford University completes their calendar school year, his final semester.
A few early highlights included linebacker Luke Kuechly returning to action after missing the final six games of last year with a concussion.
