Panthers better equipped for Eagles' pass rush

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton had been sacked three times in the first half of last season’s 45-21 loss at Philadelphia when linebacker Connor Barwin charged up the middle on a delayed blitz.

BAM!

Barwin hit Amini Silatolu so hard that the guard was knocked off his feet and landed face down on the turf.

“Yes, I remember that play," Barwin said as he prepared for Sunday night’s rematch at Bank of America Stadium. “He’s not there anymore is he?"

When told Silatolu is still with the Panthers but doesn’t start, Barwin said, “I just kind of caught him off guard.
