Per Panthers.com, the team was awarded DE Efe Obada today. Obada joins TE Alex Gray (to the Falcons), LB Eric Nzeocha (to the Bucs), and DE Alex Jenkins (to the Saints) as part of the International Player Pathway Program.
So this will take some explaining. The NFC South was selected as part of a random drawing, where four players from this program will be effectively added to the roster for the 2017 season, and will spend the season on the practice squad. The teams will be compensated with an additional practicw squad spot, having 11 spots instead of 10.
