The Carolina Hurricanes acquired Andrej Nestrasil via waivers from Detroit in 2014. He did a brief conditioning stint with the Charlotte Checkers after he was claimed.
Nestrasil unfortunately suffered a fractured vertebrae in February. It caused him to miss the rest of the season.
Nestrasil was enjoying a very good campaign until the injury cut his season short. Nestrasil started out the season in a bottom-six role before discovering some chemistry with Jordan Staal and Joakim Nordstrom.
