With both an injury and trade riddled roster, and the desire to give some of the prospects in the Carolina Hurricanes organization a chance to show off for Coach Bill Peters, General Manager Ron Francis is giving Charlotte Checkers forward Derek Ryan another shot in the NHL.
He will jump right onto the PNC Arena ice for practice today, and a game against the visiting Buffalo Sabres tonight.
Ryan debuted with the Hurricanes against the New Jersey Devils on March 1st, and made a splash by scoring his first NHL goal in his first NHL game.
