Another disappointing season for the Carolina Hurricanes saw yet another year without postseason hockey in Raleigh, at PNC Arena. Part of the reason for the Canes missing the playoffs year in and year out now is the way the franchise has handled the coaching situation.
The last two head coaches for the Canes were whiffs, including Kirk Muller and Bill Peters. While both Muller and Peters could very well find success with other NHL teams, they’re not the right fit for the direction the Canes need to go in now. Since the franchise is at such an interesting point now, they need a very specific strategy in mind for the front office and coaching staff.
