Senators' Fraser excited to get shot at playing in his hometown

WINNIPEG - There’s no place like home for Mark Fraser. Now, it’s up to him to decide if he’ll get a chance to stay.

Signed to a two-way deal by the Senators Monday, the veteran defenceman was able to celebrate his 29th birthday with friends and family in his hometown Tuesday. He’s looking forward to the opportunity to show the Ottawa organization he deserves a chance to play here this season.

“It’s my champagne birthday (turning) 29 on the 29th. It’s a nice present to be able to join this great organization that I’ve grown up watching so closely,” said Fraser Tuesday morning at the Canadian Tire Centre.
