Penguins' Murray tapped to start Game 6 vs. Lightning

TAMPA — If the Penguins are “coming back to Pittsburgh for sure” for Game 7, as Evgeni Malkin predicted, Matt Murray will be the man to lead them there.

After veteran Marc-Andre Fleury turned in a wobbly performance in Pittsburgh’s 4-3 overtime loss in Game 5, Penguins coach Mike Sullivan announced early Tuesday that Murray will be his starting goalie for Game 6 of this best-of-seven Eastern Conference final against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Game 6 goes Tuesday night at Amalie Arena. Puck drop is at 8 p.m. ET.

Asked what factors played a role in the choice, Sullivan said, “Like all our personnel decisions, we make them on the basis of who gives us the best chance to win.
