Eugene Melnyk is on the mend.
Two weeks after having liver transplant surgery, the Senators owner has been released from Toronto General Hospital, the Sun has learned.
The 56-year-old Melnyk had the eight-hour procedure two weeks ago. An update from the club is expected within the hour.
With Melnyk's life in danger the club went public three weeks ago looking for a donor to save him and more than 500 people came forward.
Before the decision was made to go public, the doctors exhausted all routes to try to find a match amongst Melnyk’s family and friends.
