NEWMARKET, ONT. - Class act that he is, Lou Lamoriello wasn’t about to leave Devils Country after three decades without saying goodbye to the loyal fans of New Jersey.
Fewer than 24 hours after being announced as GM of the Maple Leafs, Lamoriello took out a full-page ad in the sports sections of The Bergen Record and The Newark Star-Ledger on Friday to thank Devils supporters.
Here’s Lamoriello’s message:
“Dear New Jersey Devils’ Fans: Since I first joined the New Jersey Devils in 1987 your dedication to the organization motivated me to work my hardest — every day, every week, every year.
